Cigar of the Month
E by Espinosa’s
KNUCKLE SANDWICH

Erik Espinosa, the Cuban-born master blender who created such popular cigar lines as 601, Murcielago, and Cubao, has teamed up with celebrity chef and famed restaurateur Guy Fieri to release a hot new line of premium cigars called Knuckle Sandwich. This line is produced at AJ Fernandez’s prestigious San Lotano factory in Ocatal, Nicaragua. The Knuckle Sandwich is a project that Espinosa and Fieri worked on for over 18 months with the intent of providing a premium cigar that’s best enjoyed when smoked after a decadent gourmet meal.

The natural version features an Ecuadorian Habano wrapper with all Nicaraguan binder and long fillers, creating a captivating medium bodied profile of earth, cedar, roasted nuts, and pepper, backed by plenty of sweetness on the finish. The maduro release, also medium bodied in strength, features an oily and dark Ecuadorian Sumatra maduro wrapper with the same all Nicaraguan fillers that culminate in flavors of dark chocolate, leather black cherry, and spice. They were both launched together in 2022. The Connecticut version of this line features an Ecuadorian Connecticut wrapper with all Nicaraguan binder and long fillers and was first introduced to the cigar market in January of 2023.

But wait! There’s more! Released just this week is the third blend which is a new limited edition – Espinosa Knuckle Sandwich Chef’s Special which comes in one size, a 6 1/2 x 52 box-pressed figurado.

This new cigar is distinctly different because it uses an Ecuadorian Habano Rosado wrapper, with Nicaraguan binder and filler. Only 2,500 boxes of 10 were produced for a total of 25,000 cigars.

These distinct and quality cigar offerings will be the primary feature of Hecho a Mano’s May 27th Espinosa Cigar Event complete with brisket sandwiches and $5 Guiness’ so we can test Guy Fieri and Erik Espinosa’s theory of a good smoke after a decedent meal.
