La Promesa – A Superior Smoke

Our Cigar of the Month for July is My Father’s La Promesa – ‘The Promise’. This refers to the promise company patriarch Jose ‘Pepin’ Garcia made to his family when he left Cuba. He promised to succeed as a cigar-maker, to make something of himself, and to honor his family name and their tobacco heritage.

With a Nicaraguan binder and filler and an Ecuadorian Habano Oscuro wrapper, La Promesa has a pre-smoke aroma of chocolate and ceder. It smokes smooth, with an even draw and flavors of again chocolate and ceder, along with cinnamon and mild peppery spice.

We carry the line in three sizes ; Toro, 6 X 52; Petite, 4 1/2 X 50; and Corona Gorda, 5 1/2 X 48.
